King says that words are only a representation of the meaning and by dressing up your writing, it falls short of full meaning. He says that choosing words to 'impress' the audience,e will ultimately confuse them. I struggle with my word choice because when I write, I feel like my audience will not understand all the layers and dimensions of the meaning I am trying to express. The advice that stood out most to me was that as a writer I should write the first word that comes to my mind as long as it is "appropriate and colorful" because that will be as close to what I really mean.
