I think that open gradebook is a great opportunity for students to monitor their progress in all fields, however, one needs to find a balance with the accessibility. It is apropos for the teachers to tell their students not to ask for their grades because it is easily accessible, however, it is hard as a student to not be obsessive over it. For students who are trying to hide their grades from their parents, it is now impossible to beguile them because if they chose, they can log in and check on you. Overall, the open gradebook is what you make it to be.
